UConn Launches New Resource Hub to Support International Community

STORRS, CT — June 11, 2025 The University of Connecticut unveiled a dedicated webpage—Support for UConn’s International Community—designed to centralize vital information, guidance, and resources for its international students, scholars, and employees. This platform aims to clarify evolving federal immigration updates, interpret campus policies, and keep its global community informed.

The initiative responds directly to recent federal shifts, including a pause in visa appointment expansions, new vetting procedures involving biometric data and Requests for Evidence (RFEs), warnings of possible visa revocations for certain Chinese students, and a presidential proclamation restricting travel from 19 countries. UConn ensures that community members have ongoing access to updated content and dedicated contacts across several departments—Human Resources for employees (Alison Cutler, Christene Cooper), UConn Health HR (Kaitlin Dornenburg), and the Center for International Students & Scholars (Rae Alexander, Arthur Galinat)—for tailored assistance.

To further support its constituents, UConn’s International Student and Scholar Services, alongside HR and the Dean of Students Office, hosted an informational webinar on June 10 (noon–1 p.m.) to address these executive actions in depth. The university states it is actively monitoring federal developments and remains dedicated to delivering timely communications and assistance.
